Some Baby Shower Game Ideas...
Spice up your baby shower festivities with some games! A few games will make sure the baby shower celebration you throw for your baby is fun and exciting. Games will add a little zip to the party, and help the people attending to get acquainted and feel at ease amongst each other. Here are some examples:
The Name Game
Have your guests choose two names for the baby, and have them write these names on a piece of paper. Next, ask them to find words that can be made using the letters from those names. The object of the game is to make as many words from these names as possible within a time limit. Also, tell the players that the minimum amount of letters per constructed word is three. Words made up of one or two letters will not count.
Also, ask the guests not to tell the names they have chosen right away. This way, a twist to the game can be made by having the guests try to guess the original names the players have chosen by only using the words constructed from it.
Example: Michael - Anthony
Ant – hint – mint – minty - lint
Feeding Time!
Put a number of cotton balls in a large bowl, and place an empty bowl next to it. One at a time, players will use spoons to try to transfer the cotton balls from one bowl to the other while blindfolded. Since cotton balls are so light, it will be really hard to gauge how many balls they are scooping up with the spoons. The winner of the game is the player that is able to transfer the most cotton balls in 30 seconds.
Rice Bowl
Fill a bowl half-way with plain, uncooked rice. Then mix in some safety pins (the safety pins need to be closed first). One at a time, blindfolded players will try to transfer as many safety pins as they can to another bowl in 30 seconds. This is a bit hard too, since the safety pins will feel a lot like the rice.
Baby Guests
Have the guests bring along baby pictures of themselves to the baby shower celebration. As the guests enter the party, have them give these photos to someone stationed at the entrance, this person will then label the pictures with removable tape at the back and note on a different sheet of paper the identity of the photos. Be very careful with these photos as they are very important keepsakes. Next, give the guests a piece of paper and a pen and one by one, show them the baby pictures. Have the guests try to guess the identities of the photos and have them write it down on their answer sheets. Afterwards, reveal the answers to the quiz, and the person that correctly guesses the most identities wins the game.
These are only a few of the games you can play during a baby shower. Make sure these games foster friendships and, of course, put your baby in the spotlight. This will surely make your baby shower a lot more interesting and memorable.
